Saving Memories with Rag Rugs

Saving Memories with Rag Rugs

This is a paragraph from and email I received from Laurel Foster in Ontario, Canada. It was such a fantastic and touching idea I asked her if I could share it with you. She kindly agreed.

" Hi Erin: Thanks to your videos I have made 12 rag rugs so far. One thing I did was collect all the old sheets my 93 year old mother had been hanging on to, and converted them into rugs. Now everyone in our family has rugs made from the sheets we slept on over the years.

What a fabulous idea and a new way to make memories knowing Laurel made all these treasures. Thank you Laurel for sharing!!!

Please email me at ragrugsbyerin@gmail.com for ideas or suggestions you would like clarification or information about.  Perhaps you will see it in another Rag Rugs by Erin Blog.

My husband was in a nursing home for 2 1/2 years with early onset Alzheimer’s with Dementia. The nursing home was kind enough to box all of his belongings. I am going to make rugs from all of his clothing and give to our daughter and son.

Mary Poffinbarger

That is exactly what I am planning on doing.
