Special Offer & New Shipping Locations (Rag Rugs by Erin)

Posted by Erin Halvorsen on

I have added a few new locations for shipping my handmade rag rug crochet hooks. Besides shipping to the United States and Canada I am also shipping to the Philippines and New Zealand.  I research new countries for shipping as I get requests.

As a special offer I am including a packet of 30 stitch markers to anyone ordering at least one hook through May 24, 2017.  It can be a reclaimed hook, an ergonomic hook or a new poplar hook. Poplar is grown in the US and is a renewable resource.  To take advantage of this offer please add a note to your order and I will include the stitch markers.

To reduce strain, all my hooks are 8.5" long except the 25 mm is 9.5" long.  This adds more comfort and eases hand and forearm strain. My hooks are designed with long throats to help regulate stitch size. Many plastic store bought hook throats are very short and can cause tensing in the hand and forearm as well as reducing comfort level. Many new hook sizes, both reclaimed and poplar, have been added to my line up.

Thank you,

Erin

  • Erin:

Disregard my question about prices, etc. I just found the Catalogue Section of your page and I found all the information that I needed. Wow…so many choices. May I ask you, Erin, based in your experience, which are the hooks that you reccomend a person that wants to make rugs on an ongoing basis. I crochet other stuff but I like to learn how to make rugs made with either t-shirt or sheets yarn.

You have the “reclaimed wood” the “ergonomic” and the hooks with the dark honey color, which are my favorite but based only I “looks” which is NIT what necessarily counts. Also. I saw your towns rugs and I would like to pursue either the rectangular one or a round one. Seems like you used a Single Crochet stitch?

  • Dear Erin:
What sizes of hooks do you make and what are the prices? The hooks on the picture with the $0.25 (USA quarter) look perfect.

Also, I have been subscribed to you for a while but I am still a little insecure about making a rug. In the meantime, I have been collecting t-shirts and making them into a continuous ball of each t-shirt.

I am anxious to crochet my first rug and I wonder if you could tell me which is the one that you would reccomend to me and others as our very first crochet rug.

I would like a rectangular rug, maybe 3′×4′
Any advice? What hook would I need?
I want to buy one hook of every size you make. Which are those and how much would that be shipped to Independence, MO 64058 USA
NEEDLESS TO SAY I TRULLY LOVE AND RESPECT YOUR WIRK AND YOUR DESIRE TO ENABLE YOUR VIEWERS TO LEARN FROM YOU ALL THAT YOU KNOW.
    Fondly:
    William
