PRESS RELEASE Rag Rug Class at the Caladium Co-op

Lake Placid, FL  -  Learn how to make a rag rug with Erin Halvorsen at the Caladium Arts and Crafts Cooperative in Lake Placid on Saturday, January 14. Through her class you will learn how to make sheet yarn from sheets, how to make the stitches and how to start and finish a rag rug. She will go over many more details with personalized attention and instruction. There will be a number of her finished rugs to view for inspiration. During the class you will not complete your rag rug, but will be far enough along to be able to complete it at home. Halvorsen says she is just a phone call or email away should you need any help.

Halvorsen has created her own YouTube channel, now with close to 20 how-to videos. “Teaching is my love. Choosing simplicity is a way of life for me. Teaching and sharing how to make rag rugs is a perfect fit.” says Halvorsen. The tutorials both on YouTube and on her website are meant to help the crafter/artist create their own treasure to give or keep. Visit Facebook (Rag Rugs by Erin) to see all the latest rugs, discounts, ideas and shares by people that have watched her videos or taken her classes.

Class registration is now open for the 3 to 4 hour class to be held on Saturday, January 14 from 10am to 2pm. Call 863-699-5940 or stop by the Caladium Co-op at 132 East Interlake Blvd. in Lake Placid. The Caladium Co-op is open Mon– Sat 10am – 4pm. Reserve your space for this class and request a supply list of what you will need to bring. The cost of the class is $25.

The Caladium Co-op offers on-going classes weekly for a number of art projects that can be completed in one session for children and adults. Call or visit their website or Facebook page for more information.
